CA Birth Certificates

You can amend a California birth certificate to change your name, gender or both to match your gender identity.

Certificate Fees

There is a twenty-six dollar ($26) registration fee, which includes one certified copy of the new certificate.
Additional copies are twenty-nine dollars ($29) each.

Certified court order for name and gender change is required.

Use Form VS 24

Certified court order name change is required.

Use Form VS 23

Court order is not required to change gender only.
